Overview

If you aren't already familiar with the terminology, "Push" in the web arena, means to deliver your content in real-time. "Channels" to us, are a means of communicating bi-directionally (to and from the source). So, by using Push Channels, you can turn any part of your website into a real-time two-way, communication channel, without any back end work at all! Sounding too good to be true? Putting it to use

Because of our no back end integration options, using Push Channels is the easiest way to be up and running with turning any part of your website into a real-time data stream. Here are some examples:

Searching (Turn your search engine into a Stream engine)

• Problem: So many times your visitors will search for something on your site and if their criteria is too tight, minimal to no search results are returned; causing those visitors to walk away from your site and try someone else.
• Solution: Place a Push Channels widget on your search page and allow your visitors/users to subscribe to that search. As soon as a new search result is available, we push it out to them at the frequency of their choosing. This example integration empowers your visitors to stay engaged with your website.

Offerings and Promotions (Let Push Channels become your sales agent)

• Problem #1: You publish offerings and promotions on your site, but don't have the infrastructure to automatically alert someone when you have something new.
• Solution: Simply place a Push Channels widget next to your offerings and promotions and our service will handle the dirty work of knowing when something is new and pushing it out to your visitors.
• Problem #2: You send a daily newsletter of current offerings and promotions to your visitors, but you don't give them a way to know what is new or allow them to filter out unwanted information.
• Solution: With Push Channels, we know when there is something new to push, so that your subscribers aren't wading through your website or newsletters, trying to remember what they have already seen. Since each subscription offers keyword and content group filtering, subscribers are only getting what they want to see, which dramatically increases the personalization and value of each message sent.
• Problem #3: Your offerings and promotions are limited by time or quantity, but you don't allow or haven't promoted the option for reservations.

Aggregation (Let Push Channels funnel your content)

• Problem: Your website may have many content topics, separated into many sections, and under many brands. But you don't offer a customized way for visitors to follow just the content they want and at the frequency they need. Also, too much information can be overwhelming and can become a deterrent from visitors returning to your website or engaging in your newsletters.
• Solution: Create a Push Chanels widget that aggregates all your information into one stream and utilize what we call content groups to tag your content. Then, subscribers get to choose which content they want to follow, how often they want new information sent, and through which channel to send it. All the while, we are collecting subscriber analytics, enabling you to gain perspective on what your visitors really want and how often they want it.

How it works

1. You create a Push Channels Publisher Account.
2. You create and theme widgets that you will place on your website. Choose one of the following options to define how your content is pushed:
   • RSS: This is the easiest of the 3 integration options. While creating your widget, enter the RSS Feed URLs to the content that will be pushed. It's as simple as that. NOTE: You can combine this option and the "Attributes" option below to aggregate RSS and non-RSS information into one stream of information to push.
   • Attributes: Sprinkle in a handful of attributes to the already existing HTML on your website, in order to let our system understand which content you want pushed. NOTE: You can combine this option and the "RSS" option above to aggregate RSS and non-RSS information into one stream of information to push.
   • API: In the case when you have non-public facing websites or would like a back end approach, we offer direct HTTP POST requests of the information you want pushed.
3. Your users/visitors access the widgets and sign up to subscribe to the content for which the widgets are intended.
